A Little About Me
My Practice
Choosing a life coach is deciding to bring your life into renewed focus, especially during times of transition. Ambivalence about what to do next, feeling stuck, wanting a different future are all good reasons for hiring a Transition coach.
My approach is heavily influenced by Dr. Rick Snyder’s Hope Theory whose premise is that hopeful thinking contributes to healthier, more productive lives. Thus our sessions are organized around goals (what is it you really want), pathways (ways of getting what you want) and agency (what is within your power to do and change). Combining self-knowledge with action benefits you as well as those around you—so this is an investment in yourself as well as in the people you live and work with.
My clients vary in age from 30s to 70s. One thing they all have in common is the need and desire to redesign what is next. For some, change is enough. For most, transformation is what we seek: to feel, think and act in ways that are congruent with a refreshed vision of who we are and what we are capable of.
My clients come to me because they are changing careers; retiring; recovering from a major life event or simply know that what they have today isn't what they want for tomorrow.
What I'm Like
People describe me as warm, genuinely interested, honest, and who asks questions that provoke deeper thinking. I take you seriously AND we laugh together AND you get to work with someone entirely invested into your success.
What Can You Expect From My Sessions
Sessions typically last an hour. You come with a sense of what you want to accomplish. Short term and longer term goals are defined. Every session explores three important levels of understanding: What are you currently learning about yourself?; Who do you want to be for yourself and others in this moment?; What is your next step and how you will do it?
The premise of coaching is to be forward looking so the process is both an exploration and geared towards taking action in support of your goals. You will leave sessions with a better understanding of yourself and what is next.
