A Little About Me

My Practice
Choosing a life coach is deciding to bring your life into greater focus, especially during times of transition. Ambivalence about what to do next, feeling stuck, wanting a different future are all good reasons for hiring a Transition coach. My approach is heavily influenced by Dr. Rick Snyder’s Hope Theory whose premise is that hopeful thinking contributes to healthier, more productive lives. Thus our sessions are organized around goals (what is it you really want), pathways (ways of getting what you want) and agency (what is in your power to do and change). Combining self-knowledge with action benefits you as well as those around you—so this is an investment in yourself as well as in the people you live and work with. My background is varied: I am bilingual and bicultural (American / French). I was an educator for a long time from teacher to coach to professor. Currently I moderate text based seminars helping youth explore important questions such as what makes us happy? What is the difference between being human and being humane? How do we live together? I have been fortunate to collaborate with educators in India on a Fulbright scholarship and in Niger through the International Rescue Committee. My decision to become a Transition coach is a result of personal life experience and the fundamental belief that better defined lives improves our sense of satisfaction and contributes to a better world, one person at a time.
What I'm Like
People describe me as warm, genuinely interested, honest, and who asks questions that provoke deeper thinking. I take you seriously AND we laugh together AND you get to work with someone entirely invested into your success.
