A Little About Me

My Practice
My great passion is bringing healing to people who have been through a traumatic/stressful experience. I help my clients, who include adolescents and adults to find healthy perceptions of themselves. I work with people who were victims of torture and sexual violence, others who were witness of war, incarcerated individuals and people who suffered from depression, anxiety or other different personality problems. I have been conducting therapy sessions for several years. Through my learned knowledge and past experience, I know that no single approach is the right one for every individual, so I follow a range of modalities including psychodynamic, Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). And now dwelling more into the learning of Dr. Gabor Mate through (Compassion Inquiry). The approach followed in the sessions is tailored to the client need and presenting goals.
What I'm Like
As a therapist, my main goal when working with clients is to establish a strong therapeutic alliance and rapport. In order to do this, I believe it is essential to create a safe and non-judgmental environment where clients feel comfortable expressing themselves. This sense of safety allows clients to open up and explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors without fear of criticism or rejection. One of the ways I work on building this alliance is by mirroring my clients' experiences back to them. By reflecting their thoughts and emotions, I show that I understand and validate their emotions. In addition to mirroring, I also use techniques to help clients stay present in the moment. Sometimes, I may interrupt a client as they are telling their story to bring their attention back to their bodily sensations. This can help clients connect with their emotions and experiences on a deeper level, allowing for greater exploration and understanding. When helping clients explore their intentions and emotions, I approach the process with compassion and curiosity. I encourage clients to reflect on their intentions and how they are impacting them in the present moment. By inquiring compassionately towards their intentions, I help clients deepen their self-awareness and insight into their thoughts and behaviors. Overall, my approach to building the therapeutic alliance and rapport involves creating a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients feel understood and supported. By helping clients stay present in the moment and exploring their intentions with compassion, I aim to facilitate growth, healing, and self-discovery in therapy sessions.

What Can You Expect From My Sessions

In therapy sessions, I often find myself on an explorative path. Each session starts with a general intention, but we end up sailing into uncharted territory that leads to self-discovery and healing. I believe in following what comes up in the moment and building on the therapeutic relationship with the client, as it is the core of the healing process. I approach therapy with curiosity and compassion, as I believe these qualities help in moderating the therapy process. By being curious about the client's experiences and compassionate towards their struggles, I can create a safe space for them to explore their thoughts and feelings. Self-disclosure is another important aspect of my therapy approach. I find that sharing parts of my own experiences and struggles can help normalize the client's difficult narrative. It shows them that they are not alone in their struggles and that it is possible to overcome them. My approach is also based on faith in the client's inner process and faith in my own intuition. I believe that the client has the answers within themselves, and it is my role to help them uncover those answers. I trust my intuition to guide me in the therapy process and to help me know when to push the client further or when to hold back. Being present is key in conducting therapy sessions. I believe that the therapy is a dance flow that requires me to be fully present to myself and to the client. I take responsibility for whatever arises in me during the session and do not make it about the client. I approach any challenging emotions that come up with curiosity, seeing them as opportunities for exploration rather than problems to be solved. Humor is also an important element in my therapy approach. I believe that laughter can be a powerful tool in the healing process, as it can help lighten the mood and create a sense of safety and connection between me and the client. In conclusion, my therapy approach is based on curiosity, compassion, faith in the client's inner process, faith in my own intuition, and the belief that therapy is a dance flow that embeds humor and safety. I strive to create a space where the client feels heard, understood, and supported in their journey towards self-discovery and healing.

Our first session

Creating a safe environment during the first therapy session is essential in establishing a strong therapeutic relationship. When a client enters the therapy session, they may feel anxious, vulnerable, and unsure about opening up. It is my responsibility as a therapist to create a space where the client feels safe, heard, and supported so that they can begin to trust and open up. Emotional safety is also tackled by setting clear boundaries and expectations. This can include explaining the confidentiality of the session, outlining the goals of therapy, and addressing any concerns or fears the client may have. By establishing these boundaries, the client can feel confident in sharing their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment or repercussion. Attunement is the process of connecting with another person on an emotional level and being responsive to their needs. By attuning to the client, the therapist can demonstrate empathy, understanding, and validation, which can help build trust and rapport. As the therapeutic relationship begins to form, the client may start to feel more comfortable opening up about their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. This openness is a crucial step in the therapeutic process as it allows the therapist to gain insight into the client's inner world and work collaboratively towards healing and growth.
