A Little About Me
My Practice
Hello, welcome to my page. I'm so glad you're here.
I'm Natalie, a fully qualified clinical psychologist and mindfulness meditation and yoga teacher. I have 10 years of experience helping clients from diverse backgrounds create meaningful and lasting change. I specialize in helping people through life transitions, and their recovery from eating disorders and trauma. Rather than being the expert, I seek to offer you a safe relationship where we can work in partnership together. I will listen deeply to your lived experience and offer my skills to help you alleviate and make sense of your distress as you move toward discovering and creating a more liberated, resourced, and whole self.
I work through a trauma-informed, body-centered, and psycho-spiritual lens. I integrate my many years of training across Eastern Healing Traditions such as Meditation, Qi Gong, and Yoga, with my training in Western Psychotherapy where I am versatile across a range of evidence-based psychological therapies.
I understand that reaching out for help can be an anxiety-provoking experience. To help you feel more at ease, I offer a free 15 minute telephone/video call to new clients who would like to put a face to my bio, and explore initial questions and concerns. Feel free to get in touch with me to set this up by sending me an e-mail.
What I'm Like
My clients describe my presence as compassionate, calming and insightful. As a therapist, I bring my skill set, life experience, and genuine and reflective self to our sessions. When appropriate, I like to infuse humor, creative expression, and embodied movement into my sessions.
What Can You Expect From My Sessions
I am not a blank slate therapist and I am very much with you as a practitioner.
I like to keep my sessions open, explorative, and fluid.
Sessions are often guided by you, my client, as I seek to honor your autonomy and allow your voice and wisdom to emerge. However, this does not mean that there is no room for structure. If you prefer, we can work in a more directive or structured way to help you move toward a specific goal.
When appropriate, I will help you develop relevant resources and teach you new skills that you can take forward into your daily life. These skills and resources draw from both Eastern and Western Psychology and will support you to build and sustain the changes you are hoping to experience.
I will also share personal examples from my life to support your process and understanding when appropriate.
If you are working on recovery from an eating disorder or disordered eating: I will work closely with you to define your goals for recovery, work with any ambivalence and fears that are present, and keep you accountable in the most compassionate way as you move toward building sustainable change, growth, and healing. I will also work closely with anyone else who is on your treatment team and help monitor your safety from a physical point of view as needed.

Our first session
I usually begin by welcoming you into our online space before checking in with you about how you are feeling about being here on the first call with me. I will then share a brief overview of what you can expect from your first session to help you settle in. Usually, this involves exploring what brought you to therapy, and your past experiences of seeking help. I will listen deeply to your presenting needs and life story, and offer you a chance to ask me any questions you have. We will then have a shared conversation as to how I may be able to help and I will offer some suggestions on ways we can work together. I will also do my best to refer you onto someone else if we are not the right match for each other.
